A comprehensive report of the survey about independent performing arts venues, conducted as part of the cultural development planning of the City of Frankfurt, has been published. A total of 21 venues and rehearsal centres of the independent performing arts in Frankfurt were evaluated in the process. The study was based on quantitative data from the individual venues as well as extensive interviews with their managements. In addition, interviews were conducted with professors of the performing arts study programs located in the region, with representatives of the performing arts associations, with the management of the Frankfurt theatre festivals and with the Frankfurt theatre advisory board. The survey was conducted by the Viennese office EDUCULT. The survey report, as well as the results of the additional surveys and investigations, form an important basis for further cultural development planning and will be incorporated into the preparation of the proposed measures.
