Focus group discussion results

We have now published the results of the focus group discussions that were conducted as part of the data collection phase for the cultural development planning from autumn 2021 to early summer 2022. The aim of the interviews was to find out about the cultural interests and needs of specific target groups and to discuss ideas for the further development of Frankfurt’s cultural activities.

The chosen survey format was a guideline-based group discussion in focus groups. The eight focus groups consisted of representatives and experts from the following target groups:

Focus group 1:Young people with an international background and a high level of education.

Focus group 2:Young people with an international background and low educational experience.

Focus group 3: Digital natives (i.e. those born in or brought up in the digital technology era) with a high level of education.

Focus group 4: Digital natives with lower levels of education.

Focus group 5: Parents of day-care centre and primary school children.

Focus group 6: Users of cultural activities aged 65 and over.

Focus group 7: Inclusion

Focus group 8: Cultural tourism

The interviews were conducted by Céline Kruska and Dr. Yvonne Pröbstle from the agency Kulturgold and Dr. Patrick S. Föhl from Netzwerk Kulturberatung. The results of the focus group discussions, along with further surveys, form the basis for the next steps in the cultural development planning in Frankfurt am Main.
